Triple screw pumps are widely used in the industry. Fuel pumping (gasoil, diesel, oil) at high pressures in gas and steam turbines and gasoil supply facilities is one of them. Lubrication and various hydraulic applications, especially pumping turbine bearing oil, shipbuilding and marine industries, chemical and petrochemical processes are another part of the applications of this type of pump.

Advantages

1. Linear axial and uniform flow of output fluid
2. Few bearings
3. A small number of mechanical seals
4. The possibility of using a wide range of sealing plans
5. Self lubricating by pumped fluid
6. Hydrodynamic balance of screw shafts/no need for dynamic balance

Disadvantages

1. Need for serious filtration / sensitivity to pollutant particles

2. Impossibility of pumping fluids with high viscosity (very thick)

3. High dimensional accuracy and very close clearance

4. Expensive
