Repair and reconstruction

Gearbox

The most damage in special power plant gearboxes, which are responsible for transferring power from the turbine to other consumers such as fuel and lubrication pumps as well as atomizing compressors, is related to bearings and gear profiles. In GE turbines, the gearbox bearings are Babbitt and lemon type. Adhesion of the babbitt layer to the base metal is very important. Due to the high dimensional and geometric accuracy of the ribs, the smallest fault and damage in the babbit will cause serious damage to the ribs. In addition, the wear in the profile of the diagonal ribs causes a lot of vibrations and noise in the gearbox, and as a result, it will cause the gear to break. Another sensitive part inside the gearbox is the coupling. This part must be replaced over time due to wear. Also, the main hydraulic pump gets damaged over time, including the vulnerable parts of the coil shaft and bearings, which are replaced during the reconstruction of the pump.
